Friendly: Lens-Nice (1-1)

By: Xavier | July 25th, 2009

After what was described as a rather laborious football match at Vichy, Lens and Nice battled to a draw (1-1). The niçois opened the scoring with an 11th minute goal courtesy of former Lensois Loïc Rémy who converted from the penalty spot after a terrible tackle by Lens keeper Vedran Runje who wrestled the powerful Habib Bamogo to the ground.

However, just minutes after entering the match as a substitute, 19 year old mega prospect Steven Joseph-Monrose equalized for the sang et or (72 minute) to help salvage a draw. The match marked the third consecutive draw from four matches for Jean-Guy Walleme’s side.

Good to see Lens in Ligue 1 where they belong.
