Blog is back

After a rather long absence I have returned to documenting our beloved Lensois. A long and arduous relocation saw me without internet access for over a month. Much has happened at Lens since my last post. Sorry to say much of the news has been negative. Last sunday’s loss to Rennes at the Bollaert was heartbreaking and the Coupe de La Ligue victory over Monaco on wednesday gave us fans little consolation that the club is on the right track.
On a positive note, I felt Papin’s selection for sunday’s game was better. He finally had Kanga Akale back on the pitch, as well as Lucien Aubey. Nevertheless, Sidi Keita remains stuck on the bench and despite a fine performance in the Coupe game Razak Boukari is probably destined to sit on the bench for the majority of the season. Instead I suspect Papin will once again trot out the hapless Luigi Pieroni alongside Julien Sable and Jonathan Lacourt.
One thing remains certain, the Sang et Or need wins in Ligue matches or they will soon be feeling the tug that PSG felt last year. I still have hope that the winter transfer window will help. Particularly if we land Joseph Akpala and Eric Mouloungui. We shall see…….

Yes! I’m glad you didn’t abandon us. Personally I think Mouloungui is who you need. I’m a big fan of his, Lens could use his finesse on breakouts.
