Renovations announced for the Stade Félix-Bollaërt

By: Jay | October 13th, 2007

French magazine l’Equipe is reporting that the Stade Félix-Bollaërt will undergo major transformation by 2010. Among the numerous improvements and additions is an expanded seating capacity for up to 50,000 additional patrons.

Furthermore, a retractable roof akin to the Amsterdam Arena will be added. Such a structure is sure to mitigate the harsh northern winters associated with the pas de calais region. The roof and the added seating are also expected to make an extremely loud Bollaërt all the louder.

The creation of a lavish hotel for tourists and opposing clubs, as well as a large shopping mall, are also to be added. The operating costs of this new mega city are estimated at 140 million euros.
