The news gets worse
By: Jay | September 25th, 2007
Well it seems like Lens can’t catch a break these days. After weeks of suffering from muscle pains which have kept our skipper sidelined Hilton and his doctors have decided to proceed with surgery around his abdominal cavity.
The Brazilian defender had been suffering from pain in his psoas muscle and it has been determined that surgery at this time will be his best option. This of course is very bad news for Lens as it arrives when the club is trying to climb out of the Ligue 1 cellar.
The operation is to take place this wednesday in Paris as Lens braces to take on northern rival Lille. It is expected that Hilton will miss anywhere from 45 to 60 days. Certainly Hilton is one of our star players and one of the top defenders in Ligue 1 and I just don’t see how JPP can replace a player of such quality. Now more than ever it is imperative for Lucien Aubey to recover and it is my guess that Hilton will be replaced with a patchwork combo of Fabien Laurenti and Aubey. Let’s hope the news gets better soon folks.
